Team Overview

The Finance team is responsible for financial operations (AR/AP), accounting, treasury & investments, revenue tracking of over $130M in annual donations, and budget  management. With a focus on continuous improvement, technology, and adopting scalable solutions, we serve internal and external customers alike. We are seeking an energetic and creative team member who will thrive in a fast-paced and startup-style work environment.

Position Overview

The Finance and Budget Manager will be an integral part of the Finance team, focused on building a best-in-class budget and forecast process, improving treasury management and working with the CFO to manage the overall financial performance of the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators, including revenue, expenses and capital expenditures
  • Monitor key metrics and proactively highlight areas of opportunity or concern. Your goal will be to see into the future and understand what is ahead
  • Manage the annual budget process, working with the CFO to create guidelines for all cost categories. Collect and consolidate information from stakeholders, and prepare an annual budget book to be distributed to the Executive Team
  • Develop a cash forecast process as the foundation of a treasury management strategy that will maximize the org’s return on $20mm of working capital
  • Create and manage a semi-annual reforecast process, modeled on the budget process, to update org-wide financial projections
  • Review quarterly financial performance, working with the Sr Manager of Accounting and department heads to investigate unexpected variances
  • Serve as a resource for our Partnership Management and Marketing teams to review revenue forecasts and assist as needed
  • Help migrate our offline data sources to online, and merge with existing online org data to drive new insights and org-wide wins



This position might be for you if:

  • You feel passionately about joining a mission-driven organization
  • You have 3-5 years of experience working in FP&A, Corporate Finance or another related discipline where you were responsible for financial analysis
  • You are comfortable both digging into details and zooming out to look at the big picture
  • You can bring together information from many sources to draw conclusions and make recommendations. You understand that you won’t always have perfect information, and are comfortable gathering alternative evidence to support a position
  • You excel at building strong relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels of an organization
  • You are a pro at building Excel models
  • You are un-intimidated by technology, and readily embrace new systems/applications
