Team Overview

This role will sit on the Marketing & Community Team. Our goal this school year is to bring over 600,000 individuals to give $75M to the 150,000 teachers who will post classroom projects on our website. To drive this revenue and teacher participation, we: 1) Build connections between our organization, teachers, and donors; 2) Empower and educate our community of teachers to be successful on; 3) Inspire new and repeat givers to support classroom projects; 4) Listen to our teachers and donors to determine and advocate for their needs.

Position Overview is seeking a Senior Manager of Digital Marketing to strategically drive revenue growth and customer engagement through our online marketplace and manage our digital marketing channels. In this role, you will identify and execute on the highest leverage opportunities for scaled donation growth, guide our email and digital marketing strategy and deftly manage a small team to bring impactful ideas to life.

Lifecycle & Growth Marketing

  • Design A/B and multivariate tests to prove new approaches to growth
  • Develop outstanding lifecycle marketing tactics for onboarding, retention and winback segments; determine gaps in our email program and conceptualize and build new email drip campaigns
  • Work with our Brand and Partnerships teams on the digital side of campaigns, from creating email plans to building and testing those sends to analyzing results

Digital Channel Management & Innovation

  • Oversee our digital marketing channels (email, donated ads, on-site sharetools and SEO/SEM) and identify opportunities to leverage new channels and tools
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of email marketing and CAN-SPAM and deliverability best practices
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with our marketing vendors including Salesforce Marketing Cloud, SendWithUs, ReturnPath and GetAmbassador
  • Utilize those relationships to bring opportunities (and discounts!) to the organization and stay up to date on new features we should explore to drive team efficiency and revenue
  • Stay on the cutting-edge of marketing tools and strategies; research and advocate for high impact tools and integrations

Strategic & Team Leadership

  • Grow a $20M piece of our business, creating and executing an innovative, cost-effective strategy to drive online revenue for the organization and improve our digital channel performance
  • Track ROI and results from every project and across your business area; synthesize information to clearly communicate key learnings and recommendations
  • Manage a small team to usher this work forward
  • Watch and report on return and new donor metrics, along with owned channel specific numbers
  • Be an expert on our user psychology and lifecycle

This position is right for you if you are:

  • You’re a dynamic leader, strategic planner and proven project manager who can zoom in and out in a matter of seconds
  • You love designing experiments such as A/B or multivariate tests and have a proven track record of learning and iterating quickly
  • You’re conscious of ROI and obsess over results. You strive for impact first and creativity second and aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty
  • You have a technical bent and advanced analytical skills, but people also note your strengths in communication and collaboration
  • You’re autonomous, able to organize and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines with minimal oversight
  • You’re a marketer at heart; you notice daily how other companies are driving action and how those lessons might apply to your business
  • You operate with a high sense of urgency and enjoy working in a fast paced environment
  • You have 3-5 years of experience in marketing or a related field; we’re open to someone who has been an incredible individual contributor and wants to manage as well as do
