DonorsChoose.org engages the public in public schools by giving people a simple, accountable, and personal way to address educational inequity. In this clip, board member Stephen Colbert tells our story.
We started years before crowdfunding was a word. To date, more than 3 million people and partners have donated $700 million to projects requesting books, field trips, technology, and other resources for more than 28 million students in public schools, overwhelmingly from low-income households. Along the way, the organization helped to pioneer the field of crowdfunding and is now making an impact beyond school supplies.
Thanks to its dedicated team and culture, DonorsChoose.org earned recognition as the #1 "Best Nonprofit to Work For" by the Nonprofit Times.
About the Team
The Trust & Safety (T&S) team is responsible for ensuring that DonorsChoose.org is a charity that customers can trust and depend on. We are looking for a thoughtful problem solver who enjoys investigating possible risks to the integrity and reputation of the organization and is comfortable navigating challenging situations and multiple, concurrent projects.
We value office culture, professional development, and fun. We’re an energetic team that loves what we do and values gratitude. Our office has an open floor plan which supports collaboration and teamwork. Assistants are encouraged to attend events like our monthly All Hands meeting, in-office education events, and social gatherings! We’ve also got coffee and snacks to keep you motivated, even on super busy Monday mornings.
Apply online by submitting your resume, and a cover letter addressed to Jeana Takahashi, Director of Trust & Safety.
